Filter Installation

Filter installation is replacing a failing or undersized filter with one correctly matched to your pump and pool volume, so flow, pressure and water clarity return to where they should be.

What You Get

How we approach a filter replacement

  • Size to the system

Filter capacity matched to pump flow and pool volume — an undersized filter loads up constantly and never keeps ahead.

  • Right type for the pool

Cartridge, DE and sand each suit different situations. We fit the pool, not a preference.

  • Correct plumbing

Connections made so the unit can actually be serviced later without cutting pipe every time.

  • Pressure baseline set

Clean-filter pressure recorded so you know what "needs cleaning" looks like on your own gauge.

  • Commissioned and checked

Run, checked for leaks, and verified under real operating conditions before we leave.

Answers

Filter Installation questions, answered

How do I know my filter needs replacing rather than cleaning?

Watch how pressure behaves after a clean. A healthy filter returns to its clean baseline and stays there for weeks. One that climbs back within days, or never reaches its baseline at all, has media that is breaking down.

Cartridge, DE or sand — which is best?

None universally. Cartridge filters give fine filtration with no backwashing, which matters where water is expensive. DE filters filter finest but need more involved servicing. Sand is the simplest and most forgiving but the coarsest. The right answer depends on your pool, your pump and how much servicing you want to do.

Can I put a bigger filter on my existing pump?

Often yes, and it is frequently a good idea — a larger filter runs longer between cleanings and puts less strain on the system. What matters is that filter capacity and pump flow stay compatible; oversizing the filter is far less of a problem than oversizing the pump.

How long should a pool filter last?

The tank commonly outlives several sets of media. Cartridges are consumables replaced periodically; DE grids and sand last longer but still degrade. When the tank itself is cracked, badly corroded or no longer sealing, replacement is the honest answer.
